So, I went to a french party.

It is an e-comic which tells the experience I had at a French party. It’s about the idea of being trapped between understanding and not really understanding the language and culture surrounding me. In this project I didn’t write the words in speech bubbles. Instead, I recorded sounds that are part of the interactive process.

A feeling of confusion and melancholy is at the heart of this story. The issues of a young girl who arrives in unknown land. What are her feelings ? How can she “survive” in a social event ? In this comic, there are words in cantonese, totally incomprehensible for the French. These words they represent that feeling of incomprehension. It is also my first time working with the Construct 2 software on one of my projects. I had a lot of fun programming.

Disorderly thinking

I made this game during april 2018, at a Game Jam in Poitiers, the given topic was “living, laughing with artificial intelligence”. It is an abstract narrative on the edge of video-game. Like in a movie, the camera moves forward, unstoppable. The only aim is to click on as many red items as possible. Each red item uncovers a question related to A.I, one of the questions I asked myself.

The Game Jam was organized in a really loud and crowded room and I just let my disorderly stream of thought fly. I especially reflected upon my master thesis and its relations to this topic. Today, technology is so advanced it can facilitate a lot our everyday lives. However there are things it cannot recreate, like my childhood memories or my feelings. The human being is much more sensitive. This is what I learned, as I was trying to get my feelings and memories together, to really express what I was experiencing. And the color red is also the color of our team at the Game Jam.

Binsfeld’s map

I created this game during my internship in Luxembourg. It is a game to indicate where my colleagues were. Binsfeld is an international communication agency and publisher, with a melting pot of employees from France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg… So I wrote the initials of each employee, added distinctive features of their offices (statues, plants), so to represent their personality and place in the office. I also recorded everybody’s voice in their own language, so when you move the mouse over their letter, they speak. The yellow color and font are distinctive of the company.
